But that is due to the quality of the equipment and lighting. With what you're working with, it just doesn't fit. Having some blurriness and atmospheric stuff in the way is fine but obscuring what's going on isn't what you should be aiming for.
this is what i SEE: A Baneblade and some guardsmen trying to do a last stand against the Deamon prince
its done pretty nice but id reduce the dust a little bit (the baneblade is made very nice, i can't say much of the deamonPrince because he's somewhat unclear due the dustcloud.) dustcloud is also pretty nice but there is a little bit too much dust or is this supposed to be?
I like the feel of the picture, although I do not like the sharp outline on the blurry daemonprince, and that the sunlight, explosion and las beam doesnt seem to glow at all, even with atmospheric dust and clouds and particles from explosions you should still see a glowing core, and also lighting on the tank, landscape and daemonprince from the las beam, if that makes any sense.
I brought your picture into photoshop and tried it out, some lighting on the tank from the lascannon and a white core really hit the spot, I would suggest that. Well, not per se, but there is one fireing about five seconds into the Dawn of War intro, wich works pretty good as reference, I think: [link] , at least it fits my vision of the las cannon quite well. Except for that (according to my take on warhammer 40k) spacemarines have blue lascannon shots, and imperial guard have red. But that's individual, I suppose
